ECOVILLAGE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
for permaculture gardening & bush regeneration projects

where:
The Ridge on Binna Burra - a newly forming educational ecovillage and future home of the Ethos Centre in Upper Beechmont in the Gold Coast hinterland of Queensland. The Centre is within walking distance of the World Heritage forests of Lamington National Park and 40 kms inland from the Gold Coast.

what:
Help to create a sustainable landscape that will be a demonstration garden and educational venue for many thousands of people from around Australia and the world.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain experience in:

• establishing permaculture systems throughout the site – food gardens, food forests, animals (permaculture design being led by Morag Gamble)

• bushland & rainforest regeneration –tree planting, weeding, monitoring, maintenance (regen being led by Tom Camaano)

• seedsaving and nursery work - native, bushfood and permaculture plants

• construction of tracks, fence and landscape structure

• fauna and flora surveys, collecting and compiling survey data and photographs

• organising & running workshops on-site & assisting with volunteer work days

the offer:
In exchange for approx 6 hours labour each day we will offer you comfortable on-site accommodation. Self-cater in the equipped kitchen and we will contribute $20/day/person toward your food bills. It is preferable to have your own transport, however we can assist volunteers transit by prior arrangement.

This ecovillage volunteer program most suited to those with an interest in permaculture, horticulture or rainforest restoration, however volunteers with administrative, computer, marketing, trade, photography, writing or other skills are also welcomed – we have a broad range of tasks to do.
