Intensive 2-week PDC at Australia's leading pc centre, Djanbung Gardens, followed by 3 day Advanced Design Skills workshop for entry into APT Cert III & IV through Flexible Learning. Learn permaculture in a living paradise of sustainablity in action with Robyn Francis, Janelle Schafer, Peter Hardwick & guest tutors.
The PDC at Djanbung Gardens covers the full 72 hour international PDC curriculum, addressing all major climatic zones (temperate, sub-tropic, tropical and arid) , urban and rural applications. Special attention is given to climatic zones and contexts represented by course participants. Skills & Knowledge to be gained • integrated approach to working with ecological processes and planetary life sustaining systems • practical design strategies for low energy productive urban and rural environments: domestic to broad-scale • holistic approach to sustainable landuse planning, conservation and resource management • creative problem solving, participatory processes to facilitate positive change • new insights into community building and bioregional sustainability • strategies for individual, enterprise and community response to peak oil, climate change, globalisation, and challenges of the 21stC On site accommodation and camping available.
The PDC 2-week intensive is followed by the optional 3-day Flexible Learning Orientation Workshop and Assessment Day for gaining units of competency towards APT Cert III, Cert IV and Diploma - this workshop is also available to people who have previously completed a PDC seeking professional design skills or wishing to gain an APT qualification through the Flexible Learning program. Skills training includes: information services, client communications, drawing and drafting skills, reading & preparing maps and plans, report writing, bills of quantity and implementation planning.
