Permaculture Experience
I have taught on PDC courses for Bill Mollison (Permaculture Institute), Peter Wade, Robyn Francis(Permaculture Education), David Devries (Permaculture Works) and Sindhu Lawton (Permaculture Research Institute) at various times over the last 8 years.
I have taught permaculture and permanent forestry courses of my own in Australia and Spain.
Specialist areas include Trees and Energy Transactions, Patterns, Climatic Factors, Invisible Structures, Sustainable Forestry and Systems Ecology.
I have attended national permaculture convergences in Adelaide 1995, Nimbin 1997, Nimbin 2001 and Noosa 2004; and an international permaculture convergence in Perth in 1996. I presented papers at Perth 1996 and Nimbin 1997 and 2001. I have published an article entitled, “Border Ranges Permaforest- Restoration Forestry for a Permanent Culture” in the Permaculture International Journal (Issue #69). Practical experience includes land selection consultancies and property designs, but is based primarily in establishing the permaculture and sustainability education centre at Barkers Vale, where I lived for 7 years, for The Permaforest Trust. This is a wide-ranging project that has allowed me to gain experience in all aspects of permaculture design, site establishment and project management.
I did my PDC with Bill Mollison at Tagari Farm in 1994 and received a Diploma of Permaculture Design from the Permacultue Institute in 1998.
Personal
Goals are to create and participate in organizations demonstrating and promoting sustainability, social justice and positive cultural change. To engage in positive commercial endeavours successfully in order to fund good work and provide for right livelihood; and to recognise the important achievements and advantages, as well as the flaws, of the society we now enjoy while actively moving forward to develop realistic, progressive and positive alternatives for the future.
