    IPCP is a permaculture institute working in the dry savanna part of central western Brasil (loally known as Cerrado). Our work is mainly concentrated on local indigenous communities (Terrena, Kaiowa e Xacriaba tribes) and quilombola comunities (communities of african ex-slaves) throughout the Cerrado. We are active within the nation-wide Cerrado Network of NGOs, and work strongly with Agro-forrestry systems and other appropriate permaculture strategies - the simpler the better. We are also in the process of developing a small semi-urban demonstration site on the outskirts of our capitol city (Campo Grande) the site is calld Sitio Sabiá. And are active members of PERMEAR, the network of permaculturists (of Brasil and Paraguay). The local language is portugues. Most local people also understand some spanish, and english can be accomodated as one of our more active members is an Australian, Skye.
